The exact topics depend on the student's curriculum, year level and course. The aim is to work from the student's current curriculum and topics.
Strengthen the basics
Arithmetic, algebra, equations, functions, graphs and the prerequisite skills that later topics depend on.
Work through harder topics
Trigonometry, geometry, calculus, statistics, advanced mathematics and further mathematics where they are part of the curriculum.
Prepare with purpose
Identify weak areas, practise representative questions and improve the method used under exam conditions.
Understand the method before trying to memorise it.
A student should learn how to recognise the kind of problem they are looking at, choose a suitable method and understand the steps they are using.
If a difficult topic is being caused by an earlier gap, we can go back and strengthen that foundation rather than repeatedly working around it.
A lesson may include
